The 16th Engineer Brigade is a combat engineer brigade of the United States Army National Guard of Ohio.
The Brigade is responsible for a number of units throughout Ohio, most of which are also combat Engineer units.
Members of the Brigade provide construction and design assistance for Nations worldwide, both in aid to civilian authorities and traditional training environments. The 16th Engineer Brigade embarked on a mission to Eagle Pass, Texas, on the Rio Grande River at the U.S.-Mexican border. As part of Joint Task Force 6, the brigade employed nearly 500 soldiers from April until July 2000, to improve roadways, emplace culverts and construct a wooden trestle bridge and two low water crossing sites. The improvements allow the United States Border Patrol to travel with ease along the border and respond to illegal crossings quickly.
